It was said to house sacred animals from each temple, but during the exodus, most were abandoned. Many perished, while a few managed to escape or were set free, wandering the vicinity until they met their end.
Rumors claim the spirits of these abandoned animals still linger on, hence its namesake. Statues of each creature stand within the Phantom Menagerie, so lifelike that they seem ready to move in the blink of an eye.
