Rao's Diary

We have four mask fragments. Just one left now. Been running nonstop ever since Rio found the first piece in the Royal Citadel Ruins. My heart nearly burst when we stole a fragment from the Bloodroot Expanse, dodging the dead as they attacked us...all while that dreadful Gahaka slept.

Back in my hometown, Outer Delphinad, we risked our lives gambling just to trick Berkhan. We nearly died, but somehow my brother and I survived and made it this far. When we heard rumors that the treasures of a rich fool named Cassian had resurfaced at Hero's Crossing, we lured a few idiots to join us. Once we got what we needed, tossing them to the beasts yielded a clear path forward. I don't care if they were wronged. Surviving is all that matters.

But once we approached the chapel, those fools vanished without a trace. Must've been the work of that insane tiger. Now it's just Rio and me.

My little brother would probably criticize me for being so ruthless, but someone has to get their hands dirty if the two of us want to survive. Whatever I have to do tonight, all I care about is making sure Rio lives. If I can't even protect him, then what kind of brother am I? No matter what it takes... Rio is getting out alive.
