Screams tear through the monastery's quiet hymns. I know far too well whose suffering mars the cold walls of the black tower...and who is responsible.

Father, you claim these sacred walls were built to protect me, but what you truly guarded was no more than a doll bearing my name.

I cannot truly hate you, yet neither can I forgive your raging obsession. And so I shall now determine my ultimate fate with this splendid golden cup you gave me.

Within it lies the crimson heart of the man I loved...and your warped affection. I will drink this poison and escape your gilded walls forever.

I have one last request. When I die, do not carve your family name upon my coffin. I wish to rest not as a Valerius, but as a woman who once called your daughter.

Instead, engrave only this single line: "Let us meet again where we promised."

That place will be the one sanctuary you can never reach, that even your gold cannot buy.
