Tellan's Expedition Record: Memorandum of the Eternal Rose

...Yet the truth buried within this cliff was far crueler than any legend. Around the time of Delphinad's final festival, the wealthy magnate Cassian built a grand monastery here. People praised it as an offering to the gods, but in truth it was no more than a golden cage to isolate his daughter, Rosamund, from the world.

Records found at the monastery's entrance are rife with Cassian's arrogance. He praised his daughter as an "unfading rose," yet he drove Barnard, her beloved servant, into mortal danger. What ought to have been sacred bells was instead the hollow echo of a woman waiting for he who would never return.
