Dungeons, Raids and Field Bosses in ArcheAge Chronicles: Everything Playable in Early Access

by

ArcheAge Chronicles has three kinds of PvE challenge: dungeons for four players, raids for 8 to 12 players, and field bosses that stand out in the open world. Early Access opens the regions Diamond Shores, Gylden Ruins and Astron Plains – with 8 dungeons, all 3 raids and 63 field bosses. This guide puts it all in one place: where the dungeons are, how tough their enemies get, what the raids demand and which field bosses are worth farming for their loot. Our Bosses & Dungeons page also lists the dungeons and bosses of the regions that come later.

All dungeons in Early Access

All eight dungeons are built for a party of 4. The enemy level covers the regular and elite enemies inside, the boss level is in brackets. Clearing a dungeon pays EXP and gold plus fixed rewards (see below).

Only the Throne of Hinnon needs a key: the Throne of Hinnon Dungeon Key. Our guide Throne of Hinnon Dungeon Key location shows where to get it.

Not in Early Access yet: Amethyst Grotto (Heartland, boss Seer Gnasher, level 13) and Royal Tomb (Heartland, eight Royal Gravekeepers at level 99), plus Ravenous Fortress, Abandoned Mine, Foxcry Quarry and Moonshade Ruins in Whalesong Shores. They belong to regions that unlock later.

Fixed completion rewards

The dungeon bosses drop more than before, too: Gon’s Sandy Hollow and Reedwind Cave give guaranteed Fine Archeum and one of 18 Rare Lunastones, Helkum in the Throne of Hinnon guaranteed Standard Archeum plus one of the Lunastones of Might, Mana, Warding or Defiance at 25 % each, and Thunderborn Mesabiel in the Starry Veil a guaranteed Dark Sorcery Catalyst.

The three raids

Raids are meant for 8 to 12 players and run against the clock. Each one ends with a single boss. All three are playable in Early Access; the raid key (U) opens the raid window.

In the Crimson Rift the Shadowscale Legion pours through a rift above Auroria, and you have to stop the Vanguard of Destruction. The boss stands in Diamond Shores near the Altar of Blessings Nui Statue and always drops Vanguard Armor and Standard Archeum, an Immortal Heart 40 % of the time and one of the four Uncommon Lunastones Conquest, Valor, Vitality or Focus at 25 % each. Rarely you get a piece of the Reckless Vanguard armor, such as Reckless Vanguard’s Armor. In the Gylden Throne you drive off the colossal reptile Azhra, and in the Nakisian Temple you stop the high priest Celtak before he fully awakens. He always drops Brutal Nightmare, Enduring Nightmare’s Rancor and Superior Archeum, while the Immortal Heart is now down to 40 %. On top come one of 18 Rare Lunastones and a small chance at a piece of the new Nakishian costume set (level 80, Legendary), such as the Nakishian Helm. The boss no longer drops Celtak’s Headgear; it is now a Nakisian Temple reward.

Hereafter Threshold

At the Hereafter Threshold, tougher Hereafter versions of familiar bosses wait for you, such as Hereafter Gartez, Hereafter Gyldenlord or Hereafter Slin. According to the description of Hersander’s Die Key, rolling Hersander’s die summons the foe awaiting you there. The key is sold by the Wandering Merchant in the Astron Plains.

Field bosses by region

Field bosses roam the open world, with no entry key required. The three Early Access regions hold 63 of them. Most in Diamond Shores respawn after 2 to 3 minutes, but there are notable exceptions.

RegionField bossesLevelRespawn
Diamond Shores195–40mostly 2–3 min, Great Wild Bear 6–12 min, Mad Anchor Krogal and Poldat 60 min
Gylden Ruins1918–100often 178–180 min
Astron Plains2535–90mostly not specified, Fetid Prince 3 min

Another 49 field bosses live in regions that are still locked in Early Access: Vatic Shores (10), Sleeping Land (1), Heartland (18), Whalesong Shores (15) and Diamond Shores East (5).

The strongest field boss is Karshid, Tyrant of the Ruins (level 100) in the Gylden Throne of the Gylden Ruins. You can tick off every field boss on our bosses page, and the world map shows bosses and dungeons together. The starting region has its own guide: Field bosses in Diamond Shores with all 19 bosses, their spots, respawn and loot.

Elite enemies

Between regular enemies and bosses sit the elite enemies: 112 in the three Early Access regions, from level 4 in Diamond Shores up to level 85 in the Astron Plains. They are tougher than regular enemies and carry their own loot. At the Cliffs of Madness, for example, you meet Mad Bosun, Mad Chemist, Mad Pierkeeper and the Madness Watchtower Warden (level 8, respawn 50–60 min). The full list is under Elite enemies, every row with a map link.

Loot worth chasing

Early Access redistributed the loot. Regular enemies hardly drop Lunastones or gold anymore; instead many bosses give guaranteed refined Archeum and their boss material, such as Gyldenlord’s Curse from Gyldenlord or Constellation Horn from Slin. Almost every boss still drops Corrupted Heart and Faint Armor Tempering Stone, and from around level 30 on Void Heart as well. Weapon Tempering Stones are more common now: armor and weapon stones drop at a ratio of 2 : 1 instead of 4 : 1, and the big bosses also give Brilliant stones. The special drops are more interesting:

Tip: Plan around bosses with long respawns, such as the field bosses of the Gylden Ruins, and pick up the quick-respawn bosses along the way. Hunting one specific item? Open its page in our database – it lists who drops it.
